This Privacy Policy describes how Parallel Works LLC (“Company”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use Scout (“Service”). By using the Service, you consent to the data practices described in this policy.

3. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

  • Account information: Your name, email address, and profile photo, provided via Google OAuth when you sign in.
  • Profile data: Target roles, seniority preferences, location preferences, salary range, and industries of interest, which you provide during onboarding and in your settings.
  • Resume text: The resume content you provide, stored securely in our database.
  • Job search activity: Your job search history, saved jobs, and application status.
  • Chat messages: Messages exchanged with the Scout copilot.
  • Purchase history: Records of credit purchases, processed by Stripe. We do not store payment card details.
  • Generated documents: Tailored resumes, cover letters, and other documents, stored in your own Google Drive account.

4. How We Use Your Information

  • Provide the Service: Job matching, document generation, chat assistance, and application tracking.
  • Process payments: Handle credit purchases and refunds through Stripe.
  • Improve the Service: Analyze usage patterns to improve features and fix issues.
  • Transactional communications: Send purchase confirmations and essential account notifications.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

5. AI Processing Disclosure

To provide its core features, Scout sends certain data to AI services for processing:

  • Resume text and job descriptions are sent to OpenAI (GPT-5.4) for document generation, including tailored resumes and cover letters.
  • Job descriptions, profile data, and chat messages are sent to OpenAI (GPT-5.4-mini) for job matching, chat responses, and intent classification.
  • These providers process data according to their respective data processing agreements.

We do not use your data to train AI models.

6. Third-Party Services

Scout relies on the following third-party services to operate:

  • Supabase — Database hosting and user authentication.
  • Google — OAuth sign-in and Google Drive for document storage.
  • Stripe — Payment processing for credit purchases.
  • OpenAI — AI-powered document generation and chat.
  • JSearch API — Job listing data.
  • Vercel — Application hosting and deployment.

Each service operates under its own privacy policy and terms of service. We encourage you to review those policies.

7. Data Storage and Security

Your account data is stored on Supabase infrastructure in the US-East region. Generated documents are stored in your own Google Drive account, not on our servers.

We implement security measures including Row Level Security on all database tables, ensuring that users can only access their own data. All data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS).

8. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. You may delete your account at any time via the Settings page, which removes all personal data from our systems. Generated documents in your Google Drive remain under your control and are not affected by account deletion.

9. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access your data via the Settings page and your Google Drive.
  • Delete your account and data at any time through the Settings page.
  • Export your documents directly from your Google Drive, where they are stored in standard formats.
  • Contact us about your data at support@scoutjobs.app.

10. Cookies

Scout uses essential cookies for authentication (Supabase session management). These cookies are necessary for the Service to function and cannot be disabled. We do not use analytics cookies, tracking cookies, or any non-essential cookies.

11. Children

Scout is not intended for users under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we become aware that we have collected data from a user under 18, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
